7 trends for wedding parties in 2022

If there's one thing we can say is "no longer of this time," it's a gi-gan-tic wedding party with hundreds of guests who come and go as they please and dance the night away. Where we used to prefer not to invite our annoying drunk uncle, it's now "Aunt Corona" who throws a wrench in the works. Let's hope that soon we can invite the drunk uncle again and even appreciate that he can be at your wedding party.
We especially hope to be able to celebrate again. The trends for 2022 are already clear: no big parties, but intimate celebrations and ceremonies. Shall we take a look together at how these weddings are being organized?
1. In heavenly spheres
Many gained insights during the past corona period into the work they do, the feelings they get from it, the friendships they do or do not want anymore... in short: people have started thinking about general self-care. Spirituality was also allowed into life.
This evolution will also be noticeable at weddings: choosing a heavenly theme like the moon, stars, or the sun is in. Transparent wedding dresses adorned with stars or moons will regularly appear.
2. Getting married in the garden
Due to COVID, we got the chance to (re)fall in love with the beautiful nature that surrounds us. Our world became smaller due to lockdowns, and so we spent more time in and around our own homes. It will not surprise you that romantic backyard weddings or on green, dreamy locations will occur more often. Backyard weddings require quite some organization and are not recommended in every season, but you do provide guests with a unique location, and the party can go on as long as you want!
3. Weekday wedding
The events industry has a huge backlog of weddings because many parties were postponed due to corona. Those who prefer not to postpone their party too long can choose to have it on a weekday evening. It demands a bit more from your guests because they will most likely have to work the next day, but if you are someone who loves a party but not staying up all night, then a "week party" is perfect for you! Cheaper rates and better availability of dream locations and suppliers is an extra plus.
4. Wedding Picnic
Picnicking is still one of those great emerging trends. Due to social distancing and safer outdoor celebrations, the old-fashioned picnic is making a comeback. Don't imagine stale sandwiches with lemonade, but intricately decorated baskets per family, a separate picnic blanket, and a beautiful, boho-like bride and groom. Safe yet cozy, that's the idea. Try to have a covered location nearby where you can take shelter in case of rain.
5. Back to Basics: Black and White
Weddings are becoming simple again, with black and white as the main colors. Back to basics, so to speak. Exuberant and over the top is difficult after this crisis period, but don't be fooled: black and white may seem simple, but it's the graphic details that provide the luxurious look. Think of curls and elegant handwriting on the invitations, beautiful lace details on dresses or ties, and much more.
6. The First Dance Outside
In the past two years, many couples have led their guests from the dining room to the terrace, an open space, or a part of the garden when it was time for the opening dance. Often this was for safety reasons, but in good weather, this trend will also continue. Returning to who you are and performing that first magical dance with the love of your life, being one with your new partner and nature. We already find it an über romantic idea.
7. Locations with a Homely Feel
Creating coziness and a homely feel is a trend that will certainly continue in 2022. We have made our homes completely cozy because it was often the only place where we could meet. Locations that exude a homely feel are gaining popularity. Guests feel good, making the atmosphere homely. This way, you get an intimate wedding, even if you invite many people.
