You are looking for something fun, even spectacular for your event. Something where your guests or audience have a lasting memento. Themselves in a photo or a gif, for example, but what is that thing called that produces it? Rest assured: you are not the only one who doesn't quite know.
We call it a photobooth, photo booth, or photo mirror, but did you know there are many other names given to it? We would love to share with you the most common to the strangest names we've heard or read.
We searched for all the terms under which the photobooth, photo booth, or photo mirror are known, and there are quite a few! Let's start with photobox and photo column.
Because you mainly take selfies with a photobooth, we completely understand that there are also many variations with the word “selfie” in them. We found: selfiebooth, selfiebox, selfiepod that fit in this list. Or variants with “video” because you can also make video recordings with it: videobooth, video column… Do you see it bigger than “just” a selfie? Then we can provide you with a real SelfieRoom!
We also found various versions of the correct “photo booth”: photobooth, fotobooth, fotoboot, photoboot. Photopod also fits in this list. Admittedly: we also find it sometimes confusing.
Maybe you, as a (former) digital nomad or car enthusiast, want to organize a party or event and have a fun photobooth in the form of a vehicle in mind? Then you are probably one of those people who will look for a VW Photobooth, caravan photobooth, photo stall, photo bus, or a photobooth bus.
We also have one in our range with a vehicle, be sure to check out our Do it SelfieBakfiets.

And yes, the first image that comes to mind when you hear the word “photobooth” is that of an old photo booth where you could have passport photos taken, right? Then you probably think of a photo box or flash box (we find this a bit macabre, it almost sounds like you're talking about a coffin in which photos are taken) or a photo box, photo cabinet, photo machine, photo cube, photo booth, photo cabin, passport photo booth, photo house or how about the lovely, rather Flemish, photo cubby? Sounds too cute!
Always fun are the thoroughly Dutch names: snapshot cabinet, flash cabinet, snapshot box, photo shack, photo pole. Some also call it a flash pole, although the one they mean is much more fun than the first flash pole that comes to mind. If the speed of one flash pole were measured, it would get a ticket for the absolute speed it has in sending photos and gifs!
You see: we have heard quite a few variations on the terms photobooth, photo mirror and photo column, but the most fun was the one we thought a spry 100-year-old inquired about: “Can I rent a photo box from you?”
Of course you can, just take a look here.
