We rent out a lot, a whole lot. The greenscreen photobooths are absolutely one of our specialties. However, many people still don't really know what it is and what you can do with it. In this article, we list the possibilities and the challenges for you.
Let's start at the beginning. With greenscreen photography, you stand in front of a green screen, which probably doesn't surprise you, for the photo. We also know the same principle with a blue background, which is then called a bluescreen. The computer can 'work magic' with these green and blue backgrounds. In the computer, this color is replaced by a background of choice. This way, you can place people on a palm beach with just one simple photo, without having to board a plane.
The actual technique behind greenscreen and bluescreen is called 'chromakey photography'. Many people know it from the weathermen of the past. They stood in the studio pointing at a blue wall, and at home, you saw the map, the clouds, and the temperature on the TV.
In almost all cases, you choose a greenscreen, simply because far fewer people wear something with a green tint. Your clothes would also become transparent if you wear something in the same or similar colors. We wear blue tones a lot, just think of jeans, and as a result, you encounter more color issues with a bluescreen.
It becomes difficult if the visitors of your event are dressed in green or all wear a green cap. Everything that is green becomes transparent! The computer removes the green from the photo and replaces it with the background photo. The more the green you wear resembles the color of the background, the more challenging it becomes. Do you expect visitors to all wear a green jacket or cap? Then we prefer to choose a bluescreen. And if green clothing appears sporadically, we try to hide it. These people get a boa, have to button up their jacket, keep a coat on, or have to stand behind someone else for a moment. It's a bit creative, but the fun is often much greater because of it.
You have the choice between a greenscreen photobooth and a greenscreen photo studio with photographer. The technique is, of course, the same, but the greenscreen photographer offers more freedom and flexibility. The main advantages of working with a photographer:
1 downside of a greenscreen photographer! A photobooth works fully automated and therefore goes super fast. In a greenscreen photo studio with photographer, manual editing takes place, and that always takes a bit more time.
With greenscreen photo activations we can do so many fun things that we can hardly summarize it in one article. We will give you some suggestions and see if we can spark your creativity a bit. We've done the craziest things with greenscreen and are happy to brainstorm with you. Together, we can come up with an unforgettable memory with a greenscreen photo!
In the simplest form, we only change the background in front of which people are photographed. As I already gave as an example, your guests suddenly stand on a tropical beach, or in the middle of New York, at the North Pole, or …
We prefer to involve people in an activity that makes it lifelike, as if they are part of the photo. That's why we enjoy working with our car greenscreen photo activity. We bring along a loose steering wheel. The visitor holds this. In the background, a safari landscape appears, with their photo holding the steering wheel, and we overlay a photo of a jeep. This way, it's just as if they are suddenly really sitting in the car through the greenscreen.
The example of the tropical beach can also get a 3D effect! In the background, we place the photo of the beautiful tropical beach. We give the visitors an apron, a chef's hat, and have them act as if they are surprised. In the foreground, we use the computer to place a barbecue with a gigantic flame behind the smoldering meat. A hilarious effect when the visitors see the result.
To enhance the effect of the greenscreen photo, it's also incredibly fun to work with matching props, from small to large!
At a water board, people could hold surveyor's tools, put on safety vests, and wear a helmet. In the background, they suddenly appeared in the polders and on the dikes of the respective water board.
For the start of the Giro d'Italia, people could take a seat on a racing bike in front of the greenscreen. If you lean slightly to the side, it looks as if you're sharply taking a corner and cycling ahead of the peloton as the leader.
For a large company party, we had a replica of a real ski lift brought in. Guests could put on a winter hat and hold a pair of skis, and then step into the ski lift. The ski lift was set up in front of a 4-meter-wide greenscreen, making it seem as if the ski lift was high in the mountains of Switzerland.
During the Christmas season, the Christmas greenscreen photos are also a hit. Christmas is a wonderful opportunity to place people in a winter landscape among the snow, in front of the Christmas tree, or even in a sleigh. From Christmas corporate parties to shopping center promotions, the Christmas greenscreen truly performs wonderfully at any event.
Greenscreen photography is also widely used for shopping center promotions on Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and Father's Day.
In the travel industry, a greenscreen trick photo is always a success. Whether we are promoting the tourist office of Zutphen by creating personal postcards with cityscapes from Zutphen, or giving people the holiday feeling in the middle of winter at the Vrijbuiter camping store. With a greenscreen photo, you can take guests to any holiday destination.
